EAC06 Speakers/Lectures

Guest Speaker: Demetra George, Oregon

Lecture: A Golden Thread: The Transmission of Western Astrology
Track how astrology followed a circuitous path through the cultures of Babylonia, India, Egypt, Greece, Rome, Persia, the Islamic world, and Western Europe before arriving to the shores of America in the twentieth century. How and when did each culture receive, adapt, and pass on this ancient wisdom and mystery tradition that refuses to be denied and forgotten? Enter into richness and profundity of the astrological tradition to which you are now the heir and progenitor.

Lecture: Asteroids: Windows into Fate and Destiny
Can the very specific correlations of the asteroids to significant people, places, deities, and themes in our lives be viewed as the motifs from the collective past that bleed through into our current consciousness, inexorably leading us to encounters with our fate? 2006 marks the twenty-year anniversary of the publication of Asteroid Goddesses - join Demetra for a lively discussion of her current views on this topic.

Speaker: Lia Breznay, England

Lecture: The Three Liliths - Our Feminine Principle and Its Evolution
There are three different symbols in the natal chart which are all called Lilith. It can be a bit confusing. These are: Lilith the asteroid, Waldemath Dark Moon Lilith - which is a debated dark shadow around the Earth or a hypothetical planet, and Black Moon Lilith which is a focal point between the Moon and the Earth.

These three symbols correlate to our feminine principle and strongly correlate to each other: They tell a threefold story of this aspect of our consciousness within our unique individual soul history before and during the patriarchy. They also point the way how to heal from its distortions. These symbols can be applied to individual and collective charts, shedding light on the feminine principle and its evolution.

Speaker: Maurice Fernandez, Colorado

Lecture: The Nodal Axis in Virgo/Pisces - Understanding the Logic of Chaos
On June 23, 2006, the transiting Nodal Axis moved from the Libra/Aries axis to the Virgo/Pisces axis, and will remain there until December 18, 2007. Pluto in Sagittarius will be squaring those Nodes until early 2007; needless to say this is a powerful and challenging configuration that impacts the fabric of our sense of meaning and destiny, on a personal and collective level. Chaos, Order and Creation collide in order to re-program our conditioning.

Lecture: Saturn, Neptune, Jupiter and the Spiritual T-Square
Saturn in Leo, opposing Neptune in Aquarius, squaring Jupiter in Scorpio currently form a unique fixed T-square programmed to enhance our spiritual impulse; a fantastic voyage into the abstract right brain dimensions where illusions intermingle with Truth realization. Are you ready to fly? Are you ready to crash? Are you ready to stop knowing…

Speaker: Kristin Fontana, California

Lecture: Saturn: The Structural Nature of Consciousness
We will explore how Saturn correlates to the structural nature of consciousness and why the soul structures itself in the way it does from life to life. The placement of Saturn by house and sign explains not only the structure that the soul has chosen in terms of evolution but it also defines the energetic foundation for all of the other archetypes in the birth chart. Kristin will discuss the influence of Saturn giving examples of its placement through the different houses and signs, natally and through transit. Kristin will also discuss the structure of consciousness as naturally defined versus a consciousness conditioned by the nature of society, reminding us all of our need to reflect the light of our own true nature.

Speaker: Laura Nalbandian Gerking, Washington

Lecture: The Moon: Emotional Coping Skills
Each and every person on the planet has developed a way of dealing with emotional stress. These “Coping Skills” have been developed over many lifetimes and are re-stimulated in the early life. The sign, house, rulership, and aspects to the Moon, as well as the sign and rulership of the fourth house, give us a fairly complete picture of their emotional coping skills. These skills help us “get through” life, they do not, however, bring us a true sense of emotional well-being. Learn how to create emotional well-being in your life and help others to do the same.

Speaker: Deva Green, South Dakota

Lecture: Pluto, The Evolutionary Journey of the Soul
Pluto’s aspects will be discussed from an evolutionary perspective (as described in the book Pluto, The Evolutionary Journey of the Soul, Vol. I). The dramatic impact that cooperation and resistance creates towards achieveing the required evolutionary growth symbolized by all Pluto aspects is demonstrated through specific, in depth case studies of well known individuals. The Soul’s evolutionary condition is included and applied in the lecture through such case studies. The function within consciousness that has come under Pluto’s evolutionary force is symbolized by the planet which forms an aspect to Pluto. The core, bottom line intention of a Pluto aspect to each planet is discussed. The nature of the asepct (stressful verses non-stressful) will also be described.

Speaker: Mark Jones, England

Lecture: What’s Love Got To Do with It? – An analysis of the Evolutionary Method within the Composite Chart
Ever wondered why you keep attracting a certain type of person? Or what brought you and your present partner together? Ever felt with an intimate, we have been here before….?

Just as Jeffrey Green’s Evolutionary Method can illuminate the causes of the natal chart, his methods applied to the composite chart can help us discover the reasons behind our meeting key people again and again. In this talk I will be exploring the nature of the prior life causes, or pre-existing desires that have seen the relationship form in the past and that are therefore picked up again in the present. I take the view that if we understand how we came to be with another person on a very deep level then we can work out what we are meant to do with this person in the future; what we, as a relationship, are meant to become.

Lecture: An Examination of the Pluto in Virgo Generation in the light of the transit of Uranus in Pisces
This talk will address both the purpose and the challenges implicit in the Pluto in Virgo generation, a generation that are growing up under the glare of Uranus in Pisces. I will attempt to show the impact of prior life conditioning on this generation and the potential for altering or healing the negative impacts of such conditioning within the Uranus in Pisces transit. I will focus on the importance of this generation as they grow into their power at a critical time on the planet, when the potential for new ways of living meets an ongoing crisis in terms of our relationship to our environment and resources. In a time when perhaps only collective change can avert the destruction of war and widespread famine I will show the burden of responsibility that awaits this generation, if they can accept the challenge.

Speaker: Rose Marcus, Canada

Lecture: Pluto in Capricorn
Pluto’s entrance into Capricorn is just around the corner. Entering this sign (for the first time in 240 years) in late January of 2008, Pluto will advance a new collective and personal evolutionary mandate for each and everyone. What are some of the themes and core issues that we are likely to confront? This lecture will describe the archetypical influence of Pluto in Capricorn and will also examine the collective historical experience of Pluto’s previous visit to this sign. Additionally, this lecture will examine the upcoming Pluto in Capricorn cycle as it makes dynamic aspect to other significant planetary influences.

Lecture: Evolutionary Development through the Secondary Progressed Chart
The secondary progressed chart is a tool through which we can view and track the “background schedule” of the soul’s evolutionary intent in the current life. This lecture will discuss some of the significant progressed chart movements an individual may experience in the course of a lifetime, such as sign and house changes of the progressed nodes and other progressed planets, planetary phasal relationship developments, and the directional shift of planets from direct to retrograde or vice versa. Additionally, this lecture will also examine the distance that progressed Mars can travel over an average lifespan, which can provide further clues to the soul’s evolving intentions for the current lifetime.

Speaker: Kim Marie, South Dakota

Lecture: Sexual Archetypes of the Zodiac – Natural vs. Distorted (Two Lectures)
Human-made religions have resulted in grossly distorted understandings and applications of the natural sexual impulse. Much of this has been based upon false conditionings that there must be a separation of spirit and flesh to be holy. In reality, sexuality is one of the most sacred natural behaviors the human species can participate in. These lectures will discuss the natural and distorted sexual principles through the twelve sign/house archetypes.

Speaker: Scott Wolfgram, Minnesota

Lecture: Astrology of Location - Mapping Your Evolutionary Journey
In this session, we will explore how the evolutionary journey of the soul can be energized through employing the insights of the Astrology of Location. Learn how Astro*Cart*Graphy, Geodetics and Local Space form a unified system of complementary maps, each representing the planets of the birth chart in unique ways. Together these systems can reveal locations that hold the key to energizing or even transforming your life and actualizing your evolutionary intention. Whether you are or are not considering moving, you will learn techniques that provide you with a series of opportunities to energize new potentials in your life.

Speaker: Steve Wolfson, Oregon

Lecture: Individuation and Self-Love: Pathways Back to the Self
Thousands of years of living in patriarchal societies under hierarchical religions has left the majority of humans, male and female, feeling fractured, dissected into little pieces, afraid and ashamed of their natural selves, feeling less-than and not-worthy. Steve will look at the roots of how we got to this place in the first place and discuss, with examples from his own unfolding process, how one can begin to turn all of that around and reconnect with the natural, God/Goddess-given, self and life. Astrologically we will look at the archetypes of Virgo/6th house and Aquarius/11th house, and their polarities, Pisces/12th house and Leo/5th house.

Sun in Virgo Forecast

The solar month of Virgo (August 22/23 – September 22/23) will be another highlighted month in 2006. The inner planets (Mercury, Venus and Mars) are congregating together for the next few months, emphasizing the solar energy each month. We have two major planetary aspects, Pluto going direct, and an Eclipse season at the South Node of the Moon in Virgo. This is a month to shed our emotional past and old sadomasochistic patterning.

Virgo brings the energy of self-improvement. It is a transitional archetype from the egoic fullness of Leo to the equality lessons of Libra. The Evolutionary Astrology mantra is: I discern with intuitive wholeness. Virgo is acutely aware of whatever is lacking in anything. It must relate to its polar opposite sign Pisces, which is the potential for wholeness and perfection. Pisces teaches Virgo that the whole is greater than the parts that make it up.

Virgo takes us down the path to relationships with others, and Pisces shows us the ultimate relationship to Creator. Either path can be one of adjusting ourselves in order to evolve and merge with another person, group or the greater Wholeness itself. As Virgo moves closer and closer to Libra, it must address the “cup half empty” versus “cup half full” crisis. Two paths in opposite directions and Virgo must choose which one to energize.

For the last 5,000 years or so, humans have been conditioned to believe in a perfect, male, anthropomorphic god judging us from somewhere in the heavens. Over time this has created guilt that now operates on deep unconscious levels at our very human imperfections. Our response to the guilt is atonement or anger, the masochist or sadist, victim or victor.

This is the domain of Virgo and Pisces at the ending of the Piscean Age. Virgo senses what is lacking and tends to get caught up in “blame” games, pointing out what is wrong. It is not the reality of what is wrong or lacking that trips us up. It is continuing to energize that direction over and over again, and then wondering why things do not change.
