Lunar Phase Dream Journal Software

It's been several years since I first developed and designed this Lunar Phase Dream Journal, and up until now it has only been available to those who had access to the very expensive software application from which it was created. Well, thanks to a very dear friend from South Dakota , this incredible tool can now be shared and distributed amongst ANYONE as a stand alone program!!! The attached file is an automatic installer that will create all the necessary files and folders required to run this program and will place a shortcut on your desktop for easy access whenever you feel like writing in your journal. I would like to ask anyone and everyone who is interested, to please try this out for a few weeks, months or years and let me know what you think. I would love to get some feedback on how to make improvements and/or modifications so that eventually this might evolve into something that hundreds of people could benefit from.

For those of you who do not already know what this is, please let me briefly explain that this is NOT just for documenting your dreams. It is actually an extremely powerful database that allows you to keep literally decades of journaling in one single, password protected file that can be backed-up for safe keeping, printed out for hard copies, and searched like a web browser! The lunar phase and sign part of it is just something that can be manually selected from a pull down menu and used as a means of tracking, sorting and refining searches for both dreams and standard types of journal entries.

For those who do like to keep an ongoing dream journal, many may not realize it, but the symbolic content of our dreams actually occurs (and reoccurs) within cycles and that these cycles are directly reflected in the lunation cycle. So, in order to understand the meaning of any symbol, we must first have context in which to relate it. The Lunar Phase Dream Journal allows you to automatically sort any number of dreams or standard journal entries relative to the phase and/or sign of the moon over great lengths of time, which then allows you to see the reoccurring patterns as they emerge. It can be used as a very powerful, observation and correlation research tool, or just as a simple way to keep a password protected journal. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: (For PC's Only) Sorry Mac people J

Click Here to download the software file.

VERY IMPORTANT: First save the downloadable file to your desktop and then add the extension " .exe " to the end of the file name so that it reads " DreamJournal_Installer.exe "

Then, simply double click on the " DreamJournal_Installer.exe " file and follow these three simple steps:

When the installer begins, you will be presented with a series of dialog boxes (shown below).

1. Click " Next " to accept the default installation directory.

2. Click " Next " again to accept the default start menu folder.

3. Click " Close " and the installation is complete!

Once the installation has completed, the Lunar Phase Dream Journal will automatically open

and you will be prompted to enter a password. Enter " pluto " (all lower case) as the default password

and click " OK ". (Note: You can change your password at any time simply by going to " File>Change Password. ")

Once you have entered the password, you will be taken to the dream journal index (or startup, home page).

Even though everything should be fairly self explanatory, I will send out (to those of you who are interested in using this database) a complete user guide with detailed instructions on how to use some of the more advanced search and printing capabilities as soon as I can finish putting that together. For now, just have a look around and see if it makes intuitive sense. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll be happy to help you out.

To get started, simply click the < Dream Entry > or < Standard Entry > button in order to create a new record. This will take you to the main layout screen where you will write your journal entry.

This is the main page layout where the current date and time will be automatically inserted whenever you click one of the "New Entry" buttons. (Note: You can also type in old entries from hand written journals and manually change the date and time simply by clicking inside each respective field).

The Moon phase and sign locations must be manually selected from the pull down menus (if you wish to use them at all). If you do not know what the current moon phase or sign is, then I would highly recommend downloading and installing a very cool and totally free program which I consider to be the companion to this database. The program is called Lunabar and it will place an icon which monitors the moon's current phase and sign location in real time and displays it right on your computer's task bar!

For now, please feel free to just experiment with all of the other buttons. This should be enough to get anyone started. I will eventually finish writing the more detailed user guide and send it out to anyone who wishes to know more about how to use this database.
